fitting egr plate

Hi folks,
I was going to fit egr blanking plate at weekend - sprayed bolts with wd40 but cant move bolts with allen keys - any tips greatley appreciated

be carefull in applying too much force or you'll break the inlet/exhaust manifold seal and then you'll have to take both off, fot new gasket etc.

i got mine off with the allenkey, a strong but hollow pipe (over the allenkey like a breaker/extender) and a wooden hammer. about 10taps later the top bolt came free, then a few taps in the right place to the valve its self and that loosend the bottom bolt.

just be paitent, whole world of poo if you shear the bolts, new manifold etc

use plenty of wd40 - I soaked the bolts every day for a few days before I did mine - beware - the bolts can shear

remove the radiator cover & unbolt the egr pipe from the engine - this gives you more room to work & makes the plate easier to slide it.

I didn't use allen keys - use the ones in a socket on a wrench - you get a better feel & don't have to keep taking the allen key out - much easier

like you get in a socket set - except instead of fitting onto a bolt they have a hex in the end & use like allen keys - you can get em from halfords in a set - you want the metric set.

Nae biccies fur me either, do ye do coffee? mines is just black, so ye can save on milk and sugar

Me too, I don't drink coffee, I hate biccies unless covered in chocolate or alike, not much of a tea lover but in freezing winter days... But do u provide overseas delivery service as well? 'Cause I can't make it in time ...

I think it wouldn't be a bad idea to take some pictures of the whole process and make a pictorial guide out of them, it might help other people less familiar with these things.

must be some really thick people out there if they can't make tea, coffee & bacon butties without a 'pictorial guide'

I was thinking to eating/drinking at the same time while fitting the EGR plate, this would be interesting to see ...
For the EGR valve there is one here: Difflock: Modifications and as for making , tea, coffee and the rest you only need to get divorced (sort of nowadays fashion in uk as I saw) or not marry from the first place...

Ive had mine blanked already but for free tea and biccys ill turn up to.
