Thanks for that HL - had a quick look today while at work and saw some at £75 but wasnt too sure about the others.

Found Dessy367 - I did try and phone him today but there was no answer - will try again, thanks

Autosense

£37 each less 10% if you buy 2 = £33.30 each

This includes the bush you need to replace at the same time

Found him and have emailed him, thanks - although have just noticed the rear one £37 and the front one is £89 -does that sound right?

Ah, just found my list I wrote down - last time I looked he had front at £49 and rear at £37.

ebay not loading fo me at the moment

Right, got back into ebay

The price differences are for different part No.s according to year
I see that one of those I had looked at is now off the list.

The way to check accurately is to get the correct SSW or Webco part No. for your VIN No. and then look for who is selling those at the best price

The VIN number on my log book matches up with the £37 one and the £89 one. The £50 one is for up to year 2000 - mine was registered in july 2001. I hope I have read all the technical stuff correctly!

Just to confirm,
for a 2001 model, the part No.s are:-

Front:-
LandRover SSW100080
Webco 4410328520

Rear:-
Landrover SSW100090
Webco 4410328530

You are a star thanks for that - its the £37 and £89 - the numbers match with what you found for me :)

The prices keep changing since I checked a week ago, and by a fair margin

Dessy367 is quoting best overall - but a week ago it was Autosense

Alternatively - one from autosense and one from dessy? Makes it in the region of £87? With a bit of luck when he connects up the front and re-tests it I might only need one! Ever hopeful me!:D

Just to fill you in Mark, Autosense came back with £86 for both altho the fronts won't be in till later in the week. But good price and good comms from him too! Thanks for the heads up :)

Found out today that the front sensor is fine - unplugged but now re-plugged and fully functioning! Only the rear one required at cost of £41 incl express delivery. If I had an MOT done at a garage and it failed and then re-tested at a 2nd garage, do they do the whole test again or only the 'failed' bits? I don't really want to go back to the original MOT station as don't want to run the risk of meeting that guy that tried to rip me off! Anyone know the answer to this?
Thanks
Carol

Thanks - am assuming since its all been done officially and logged as a fail with VOSA, that they shouldn't turn up anything that hasn't already been turned up? D'ya think?

Depends on the tester, they are allowed anything they think is not up to standard but if you have the fail sheet they might be lazy and just check the fails. fingers crossed

Am not expecting anything - just a bit traumatised from the whole last week experience and don't want any more 'surprises'!

Whatever garage MOTs the car dont let them use the rolling road unless it's specifically designed for permanent 4x4. Otherwise they run the risk of really damaging something i.e. the transmission.

I shall take that information with me tomorrow HL - thanks! Part arrived today so fingers crossed!
