Fitted My Parrot Hands Free With I-Pod

Had a little bit of free time this afternoon so I decided to fit my Parrot Handsfree kit,

I followed the usefull guide on here on how to remove the Radio & then it was just a case of plugging the Autoleads SOT-085 into the Radio & connecting the Parrot loom,

No issues at all, Probably the most difficult part was deciding where to mount the I-Pod & USB controller, At first it was going to be in the glove box but when I was removing the centre console I thought it would be good to have it run into the arm rest area,

Tidied up at the back of armrest

Armrest fitted & USB Stick Plugged In

Built Back UP & Screen Mounted

Controll Pannel Mounted

All Working

Everything works perfectly & so far I have put 10 albums on the Memory stick, Its all controlled through the little wireless pannel that I put next to the clocks & within easy reach,

Eventually I plan to make a docking station so I can plug my I-phone in & charge it with the cable aswell.

ex GF had a parrot. noisy smelly potty mouthed fooking fing. Dun't kno where it learnt to swear or say "Mochen Cymraeg" (Welsh Pig)

I got a parrot asteroid off eBay thinking it'd be better than their really good phone kits! Suitably unimpressed, should've got a kit instead.

Got my kit for £85 delivered, Always had a Parrot kit in my cars. Impressed with the sound quality of the music streaming.

I've always been really impressed with their car kits, but their stereo is a dissapointment

it works really well when it works, it just crashes a lot

Glad a saw this as I was looking to get an Asteroid - like you I thought it would be a good idea and at least as good as the other Parrot kit out there.

When you say it crashes, has it got up to date software & firmware ? Are other people having the similar problems ?

Is there anything else better out there that would fit easily enough ?

To be fair to it, it's a great stereo. Looks lovely. It's just the crashing usually when you make a call that lets it down. Updating it is on my list of things to try. The phone is really good. 75% of the time

the apps seem pointless tho?!?! Must update it and report back

Parrot asteroid now updated! Will report back after I've lived with it for a few days, but so far so good!

Definitely better but not used the phone much yet which was the big issue. Still testing. If you plug an iPod or iPhone in to it for music (or USB) it's brilliant, the voice recognition is amazing for finding music. Bluetooth music control is a bit pants by comparison

Lived with it for a while now. It still crashes occasionally but not often which is a huge improvement. It's a computer not a stereo and as long as you think about it like that, it's oditties aren't too bad. It has to boot up when you turn it on for instance, it doesn't go to the source it was last on automatically. Apart from daft stuff like that it's a great stereo and I'm now thinking of trying to find a second hand one for my freelander. Cos it is much better than my iPod pioneer one that I used to think was great
