Hi all, Brought my first Land Rover Freelander last week and I am hooked already. She is a 1999 diesel 3 door and in mint condition. Really pleased I have found this site.

Have a small question to ask any of you technical people out there.....I noticed yesterday (as was the first time I used car in the dark) that the 3 rear lights were not working, the break lights however are. I have checked all the fuses which appear fine (not too sure what to look for but no obvious breaks or black on them). This evening I have checked the 2 bulbs in the bumper, they seem fine although 1 does look slightly dark on one side but the wires in the bulb look fine. As for the bulb in the light above the spare tyre, I cannot get the thing undone to even check it!

So i suppose my question is.. any ideas what else it can be apart from the fuses (which number should I be checking?) Will buy a couple of bulbs tomorrow to see if it is the bulbs but looking at them I doubt it.

Sorry if I sound like a complete idiot just know it should be a simple thing so really do not want to go to a garage if I can help it! Also are they standard bulbs that I need from Halfords???

Thank you again and I hope to post lots of messages soon

Just tell the bloke in Halfords where the bulbs are to go and he'll see you right. Might even fit them for you if you act dumb. Welcome to the funny farm.
