Gigantic diesel engines but the fastest off roader is powered by a supercharged V8 and no 200/300 series diesel discovery has as much grunt as the V8 disco's.

For god's sake i was originally talking about that no 300tdi has as much torque or BHP as a V8 it was you who started talking about military vehicle's.

My 300tdi is terrible. At the moment. When its fixed, it'll be wunnerful agen. But at the moment its terrible. Now stop pickin on poor Robs. Yer mean bunch o bastids!

the 200 and 300TDi are fine engines. Change the filters and cam-belt at the specified intervals and they'll be just run in at 150k, whilst a V8 will be scrap metal.
You'll get 30 - 35mpg (as opposed to 14 - 18 from a V8) and they pull like a train up to (and a bit above) the legal limit.

Ignore everything Robs has said, he's obviously a complete tw@t and aint got a clue.

True but the V8 does tend to come a liittle unstuck when faced with a smattering of the moist stuff, whereas my flimsy 200 tdi just keeps on plodding along tanaciously even when its up to its neck water.

Bet that Robs french too
