Hi folks, just a few lines to introduce myself. I have recently purchased my first Land Rover a 1999 TD5 ES, 5 seats - leather, ACE, Climate and SLS, 143,000 miles dealer stamped to 122,000, long MOT - £3,000.
I am extremely happy with it even though I broke the golden rule of never buying the first one you see.
I think I was seduced by all the toys or was it the way it drove and sounded, or perhaps it was because it looks so beautiful.
Either way it is mine now for better or worse as I intend to keep it - flaws and all.
I know I wil have to spend money though, I was thinking major service first and possibly change the crank pulley as it squeaks when I switch the engine off.
Handbrake is not too clever either but I will check at the weekend.
The forum has already proved an invaluable source of information and I look forward to becoming a regular user / contributor
