Hi guys, after putting up with a faulty fuel injector pump now for about two years I finally decided to bite the bullet and try to sort it. The amber engine check light used to come on occasionally when I changed gear on my P38 diesel manual and the engine would cut out for a split second until I blipped the throttle and it would pick up again no problem. The fault was diagnosed as a faulty fuel quantity acctuator in the pump and the only cure was a new or recon pump costing about £800 - £1000 so I learned to live with it rather than fork out all that cash. However I found a scrapped Vauxhall Omega undertakers Hearse with the 2.5 BMW Diesel engine and only 70,000 miles on it in a local breakers yard and the identification numbers on the Bosch pump matched my pump and when the guy said I could have the pump for £100 I jumped at the chance. I knew it was a gamble but what the heck so I removed the pump and fitted it to my Rangie and it is now working great so thanks to all you guys who post all the helpful threads on here to help guys like me.
