Filling a D3 auto with transmission fluid could only get three Litres in every thing is dry. it would be easy to remove the top cooler hose and fill the cooler and line is this advisable?

Most modern autotrans have to be filled while running, to hold fluid up in the torque converter while the filling takes place.
Garages use special continuous filling machines for fluid changes, they extract the old fluid and fill the new with a loop of pipe connected to the transmission by two connecters.
I think some people have made their own set ups to to do this.
Forum search may reveal if it is working.

Or @gstuart may know.

thanks mate i suppose there must be some way or you'd never fill them from new lol will ask @gstuart

hi mate

this is a very useful link for changing ATF oil

https://www.disco3.co.uk/forum/filos-autobox-oil-change-55010.html?highlight=Atf

however to fill it from dry and from what I’ve read in some manuals, initial dry fill is 9.5 litre and indeed engine needs to be running to get correct level

plus what ATF oil have u got plse

edit, just looking for the tech sheets for u
