HI all

Can't seem to post any pictures in the gallery so thought id pop a few in here now Ive pretty much finished her. Just want to get rid of the stupid side repeater grill things.

shes a 1994 300tdi, one of the early ones

mods are basically everything to make it look like a td5
td5 facelift headlights
td5 front bumper
td5 rear bumper
td5 rear light panels
td5 rear light guards top and bottom
18" hurricane's with 255/55/18
alloy hub converters
full td5 half leathers with logo (think they are xs seats)
standard height hd springs
fully poly bushed
egr delete
pump tweaked
keep her well serviced with all oils changed etc

Think that's about it. I love it to bits, it's my 3rd disco, my others being off road spec so this is really my first road one apart from my troublesome td5 i had before.

Cheers
Glen

How much you pay for that? Where in tipton are ya?

I had it off my uncle mate so not a lot to be fair, he'd had it 6 years and came into a bit of money so let me have it.

How do them hurricanes fit a d1?

it's got adaptors on, that change the pcd.

It looks good

But

Why not just buy a td5 ??

Cheers bud. had one before and it was nothing but trouble, fuel pump went, turbo then went, then head gasket went which turned out to be the head, then turbo went again and took the whole engine out. got rid of it then as a none runner and lost over 2k on it so thought id go back to a 300 as ive never really had any trouble with them. But the td5 looks way better so best of both worlds in imo

i really like what you've done with this, kind of what i have in mind for my 300tdi

i have a few questions

how did you fit the D2 interior?
how did you fit the rear lights? did you have them cut and welded?

regards

Sam

The only thing that gives it away at first glance is the door handles and window rubbers.
Best of both worlds, IMO, as you've the simplicity of a D1 but the smarter looks of a D2. Nice. :)

looks pretty smart mate, but as greg said, a nice set of chunky at's would look very nice on it! i do like the colour tho!!!! 300tdi reliability aswell! :D

Cheers and yeah i agree with the at's, just looking on ebay now :)

front seats are on d1 bases
rear seats bit ore tricky as they lock in position on the floor and not the sides so i basically fitted rear door strikers from a rover i believe and welded them to the rear floor where they needed to go.

how did you fit the rear lights? did you have them cut and welded?

Had the very rear panel that the light sits in welded onto the d1 quarter panels

Well spotted and i would change them to td5 if i could but think it's mission impossible. And yeah i think best of both too!!

Cheers All

If its road spec don't bother with AT's.

I run 20" Stormer alloys on my D2 with road based tyres on, so much better on road performance than AT's.

I run AT's on my 300 for road tyres but then off road tyres but I keep thinking about running road tyres on my alloys as I have 750-16s for off road.

IMO no point in spending money on AT's if it spends its life on the road ;)

I think you have the best of all worlds have the adapters you can run the later style wheels for the road and some 300 for off road if you wanna get it dirty.
