Hi all,

bit of a stupid question about the Fuel Burning Heater.

I have one fitted to my car, ( stealer didn't seem to realise it was even fitted ) but it seems to do its own thing ? Is there a way of starting it and turning it off when you don't want it to work ?

I cant find any reference to its operation in manuals ?

If i get in a start the car then turn it off it will start up for about 4 minutes then go off. Or when i park it sometimes can be heard running ?

It fills the garage with fumes and makes very loud noises at times when starting itself up.

Have been told it can pre warm the car for me, but how ?

Many thanks

Mark

And before any smart comments about getting a real 4x4, i used to have them but come back down to a freelander !

Eggspert, eggspert, forget it ming. Pictures as much as you want:D :D :D but re the FBH, I thought it came back to the exterior temperature sensor to have a switch put in-between as I thought this was the initial trigger of the whole system. But others now said to put a switch on a power supply line somewhere in the engineroom (I haven't found the fuses/connection they mentioned however). What I agree with is that when it starts or stops (after short runs) in the garage it is accompanied by a lot of fumes and it also smells awful. My wife loves it, especially when the washing is drying in the garage.....  .
There is also a possibility of installing a timer on it I assume (check other threads opened on this) but none of this was done by me. Every year again I say to myself that I'm going to fix it but every year goes by without doing anything, lazy sod I am....:( :D :D :D :D
Anyway, whatever you find documented on the subject, I hope you will be able to do/fix things as you want. Good luck.
