Is it posible to pull out the FBH fuse? I have a 2004 Freelander TD4 Sport. It says beside fuse 5 in the manual ...... Engine management, transmission cooling fan*fuel burning heater*

The reason i ask is that the dam thing never wants to turn off while car is running. Its 16 miles to work taking half hour and it runs the full journey. I went on a longer journey of 30 miles and the thing was still running by the end of it

if all that is on the same fuse, you might be better to isolate the supply cable to the fbh and put a suitably rated switch in line, so you can have control of whether tis on or off.

has been done before, and somewhere in this section, there are the details.

have you tried looking at the FBJ in situ and seeing if there is something you can disconnect to disable it ?

Not had a look to see if there is something in situ like an electrical plug. Will take a look at weekend.
With regards tot he fuse, there seems to be a few people on this forum that advise doing this on 2004 & 2005 freelander TD4's to switch it off as well as showing pics of the owners manual showing the fuse number. Slightly confused now lol. Transmission fan, do manual gearbox have these or is it only on auto's? And when it says engine management is that management for the FBH as i have heard they have one or does it mean complete engine management? Sorry for all the questions lol :5bblush5:

Hi
It is normal for this to happen mine does during temp drops the fbh has its own thermostat and when the weather turns milder then it either does not fire up or shuts down quickly

Hope this helps
