P38A Fault code reader.

Thanks to everyone who replied to my question on the correct coolant to use in my P38 Thor - much appreciated! Now for another one! I have an intermittent ABS/traction warning light staying on; my local garage plugged the car in for me and confirmed a possible short between the front ABS sensors, and a possible faulty ABS relay. They didn't charge me for the plug in as they felt the investigation was "inconclusive" due to the age of the vehicle (they said they couldn't obtain a "proper result" as the vehicle was too old for their equipment to read "correctly"). Is there a reliable and easy to use/interpret code reader I can purchase? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks again.

The only worthwhile diagnostic tool for the P38 is the Nanocom.

Agree with nanocom, great tool. As with any tool on any car, you still have you use your brain to unlock what it tells you

"...use your brain?" That's me out then. Well, I have looked at the prices on the website, and as "our" Santa is on minimum wage and hasn't been on furlough, I guess it will be next Christmas...but a worthwhile investment all the same.

This looks worryingly "cheap"...and appears to only cover the GEMS engine. I would assume that this is no good for the Thor engine with Bosch equipment...?

What i mean is, faults can be symptoms, not causes.
In the case of the abs sensor, the error you state can be caused by several issues, not actually a physical short between 2 sensors

Have you looked on Landy Zone international rescue to see if anyone near you with nanocom who will plug in for tea and biscuits
