Hi all,

Today after going over a minor pot hole, I have got the three amigos pop up for the first time since I got the car 18 months ago. I know from reading it will be a hub/sensor or something.
I was wondering if there is anyone in the Corby area with a fault code reader.
I know I can go to Rockingham Landrover but am not sure what the charge is?

Many thanks.

Hi Dave, can't help you with a reader coz I'm in Glasgow and I don't have one :D, tho I was driving my local forest last weekend and hit a couple of loose rocks which resulted in the 3 Amigos, I'm actually thinking of buying a Hawkeye and posted asking for advice, I had a sensor go last year on my Disco Td5 and my local garage charged me £35 just to diagnose it, I think it would be a good investment ?

I have today been quoted £65+ vat to diagnose and reset which they think will fix it as the bumps causes a glitch in the ecu!!!!

I have also noticed my difflock light will not come on when activating difflock???????????!!!!!!!

Hi

Not a million miles from Glasgow (G69 lanarkshire) have Nanocom Evo for Disco TD 5
Had hawkeye before both very good units.
Since getting it havent needed it but good to have for peace of mind

Have found a nanocom for £140 so this may be worth it.
If every time I go over a bump it costs me £80 I will be seriously considering trying to make the first ever td5 hovercraft!!!

Hi biggeeeee, G69 ? I'm G65, yeah I totally agree, any time the lights come on just plug in check and then reset without running to a garage, I believe you can check how well the engine is running, its definitely a bit of kit for the toolbox.

Love the hovercraft comment Dave :D LOL!

I'm in a quandary. My missus doesn't want me to "waste" money on a diagnostic. However, the garage I bought it from does offer a free fault read/reset for customers who've bought a Landy from them. So a 40 mile round trip assuming the Disco is still driveable, is not that bad a compromise for me.

Why do you need to re register ? is it not unlocked for your model of LR ?

Can't remember where I read something about regestering your details to it and what vehicle you have. Just wondered because it is second hand it may be a problem.
I doubt it!!
Also today I noticed when I brake I can feel a slight pulsing, mechanical movement through the brake pedal. It's got nothing regular to it. I am sure I will be stripping it down when I find out where the fault is. If it is a sensor or hub I might put new discs and pads on while they are off!!

If it isn't the ABS pulsing the brakes for you then my suggestion would be a warped disc. Replacement discs and pads seem cheap enough. :)

I would say yes you have a warped disc, if you have the 3 amigos on then the ABS along with the TC and HDC should'nt work....they don't on mine anyway !!
