Hi there folks,

I'm alex or teshu take your pick.
Just agreed to buy a land rover discovery manual TDI on an 1994 L plate. For what I think is a decent price of £1700.
We'd seriousley consoidered buying a black cab but couldn't find one we felt happy about - £2k for a 1989 fairway model from a dealer.
So in the end we decided we go for a discovery as we've fancied one for years.
Selling a BMW 523i on e-bay and buying a cheaper discovery to free up some cash a smoved house and the BMW although nice does nothing for me or the girlfriend.

So it's dark green and a 2.5 diesel engine, had alittle test drive and felt good no problems I could tell, little (as in not much at all) grindy into 2nd but seamed OK. Was a bit of rust near the boot entrance but no signs of damp and all the window seals were in good nick. Couldn't see any signs of damp.

Fairly excited as it feels like the right car to both me and my girlfriend.
Picking it up on Sunday.

Teshu :D

If your that excited you'll need the tissues. ANYONE KNOW WHERE THE TISSUES ARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!There was a wimmin joined up the other day so I reckon there in here somewhere.

OoooooooooK dudes,
that was fairly excited, not lets go camp and pitch a tent excited!
;)

Sorry if I've caused offence to any rangie drivers out there. :p

Still getting up to speed on the class distinctions between each type of landy.
feel free to educate me on these matters.

So are discoveries just classed as urban runabouts, chelsea wagons or whatever thier called or are they actualy genuine use me in the country type viecheles. (really can't spell- sorry)

Nah Discos are almost up there with Defenders and series, It's the glitter balls and fancy lights that hold em back, Rangies are always out at the club with a G&T an don't often rub shoulders with the likes of us. Gaylanders owners are just a kind of sport for us, a bit like rabbits every one knows someone that has a cute fluffy one but we'd all like to go out and shoot em.

Thanks for the house point! :D, I do I win a sheep?

Far from bieng a fan of freelanders, the defenders were a bit too basic to put the kids in and a discovery was the only other car we'd ever wanted (well I want a Skyline). didn't think we could afford a range rover so never looked.

Is a haynes manual a good buy? would like to keep the car in the best condition possible possible for the lowest cost. I don't know alot about cars etc but I'm not a complete buffon when it comes to practical matters.

Sheep apear to be a valuable commodity on here!?!
I'm off sheep rustling in a bit then, got a few questions (not sheep related) for you all so best get something to keep you all sweet with.
