I tried this out on my faded wheel arch trims on a qashqai and I think this may at last be the solution to my Disco 2 arch problem. Will let you know next week.

I’m in the process of spraying them body colour. Makes them look a little more modern IMHO. Tho you could just take them off and clean up the existing wings.

I applied Wurth Plastdyer to mine 12 months ago and they still look black and smart. They were very badly faded previously. Ive done door handles and rear bumper now and its very good stuff. Its ££ but you get what you pay for. Ill find a link now. Try it, it works.
For the record i washed the arches thoroughly and wiped down with isopropyl alcohol. Left to try completely then applied the dye. I masked the join to the body also to avoid mess.

All my arch trims are faded and trashed from years of constant sun exposure.
I plan on sanding them down smooth, wipe clean with alcohol and then spray primer and repaint black.

Polytrol lasts quite well

“This stuff” may be what will change the hard plastic bit of my spare wheel cover back to the black colour it had when new 5 years ago... what do u think ? :)

Opps just looked on eBay and it’s £31 + so a grey wheel cover isn’t that important in the scheme of things, if it was I buy a new replacement cover.

Never done this myself, but I've heard some folks heat them GENTLY with a heat gun which brings back their colour???

Umm, perhaps it’s a Fake ‘faded wheel arch trims solution’ :)

I think it is true, the heat brings the oil out in the plastic which temporarily restores the colour, it is that sort fo plastic that superglue will not work on, again due to the oil in the mix.
