I've used paper clips and cut down bits of plastic to shove in on my cars so it should work on yours although I've never tried a modern one.

yea ive managed to get stereos out with nails and stuff like you said, on older cars but this ones being a bitch, an old vauxhal key? thing fits in the hole but doesnt release stereo, got me stumped

last time i had that prob - went and spoke nicely to lad at halfrauds - he came out with their tools and loosened the rad for me - worth a try?

cheers M H M didnt think about that one looks like im going to halfords tomorrow then fingers crossed

Or you can make your own from an old bank / AA / Tesco card.

I'm guessing you have the satnav stereo?? With two rectangular slots to each lower corner??

If so - cut the cards into two thin wedges say 5mm at one end going to 15mm at the other.

Insert the smallest end into each rectangular hole and then try and grip the radio and pull towards you. (not by the cards obviously).

If this does not retract the retainers, then try again after cutting a small part off the 5mm end (ie cut it off at say 7mm).

This worked for me when removing my Freelander OE system.

Regards,

Steve

I bought some the other day from my local motor factors, silly price £5.99 but solved how to get the Becker out the dash!
