Hi guys

On two occasions now I have had f4 flashing and the hill descent warning light comes on. If I stop and restart the engine it clears.

Any ideas

Thanks in advance

Auto or manual gearbox?

F4 flashing is normally the gearbox electrical barrel connector coming apart.Well it has bin on mine. Or harness problems with insulation damaged.

Hi

It's an auto

Don't like the sound of the first !! I eventually found some previous posts about this fault on here.

When the hdc warning light comes on and f4 flashes the FL drives normal and doesn't go into limp home mode, so I am hoping it's only a electrical fault.

Thanks

Normally barrel connectors as said above, but the fact that it continues to drive through all gears with no upshift to 4th, or bangs, would rule out the connectors coming loose. HDC lamp on... best to get a fault code reader on it. If it's a fault in the auto's computer then few code readers will be able to ge to that. Check all fuses. Check resistance on HDC switch and the connector int come loose.
