Extra 12v socket on dash?

OR.... open the lid on the centre console, undo the screws and take out the cubby box, inside you will see a spare black connector with 2 wires coming from it, 1 black and 1 purple. this is the connector to the optional rear power socket! it is already live and ready to go so just tap into and feed back to the dash....

i got a socket out of a laguna from the breakers to put in the boot really good quality with a rubber cap on it when not in use. i wired mine in to the live on the 12n socket on the tow bar wiring

Excellent info from everyone, thanks a lot. The centre console option seems a sensible and easiest option, thanks markyzs180. But, I already have the rear power socket so will I be drawing to much power if I connect up to that connection? Also, what's to stop me doing the same off the front centre power socket that I already have?

And thanks for the pics Duncp73, you're a star, but I already have plugs on those sockets/pins. I'm guessing it's one of the many extras on the car, it seems to have everything apart from heated mirrors and windscreen.

No worries Cooter. As for drawing to much power, it would depend on what you're planning on using it for.

The extra socket will have a Griffin flush fitting dual usb adaptor within it, so at most maybe an ipod/phone etc at the same time. No 1000w invertors, not yet anyway!!

I chose the Griffin rather than the Belkin because the Griffin has no wiriting on the face so looks standard, but the Belkin doesnt because it does have writing. That's how sad and obsessive I've become!
