Expensive interior wood 'bits'

I have a lot of wood in mine, but not this bit, too much my eyes (and wallet).

They must have been a very expensive option to be so rare that one will sell for that price.

I have the bit of walnut burr that goes in the binnacle that surrounds the dials but I took it out. Not only does it make them harder to read, the binnacle won't clip shut with the bit of wood in there, so the thing rattles all the time!

Another great design from RR.

The only wood bits I keep an eye out for are the bits that are plastic wood in my vehicle. So far I've seen 3 bits of door trim and a lid for the ash tray. Tempted to just fashion my own door trim. Should be a fun project to keep me busy.

Be careful buying wood bits off ebay. The finish changes slightly depending on the model and the year. Some of them look distinctly orange when seen up against others that are a darker brown.

If you want a matching interior there used to be a couple of guys who made these for the aftermarket. Not the stickers but wood effect lacqueur onto standard black panels.

There was a bloke down in Bath area that colour coded the trims to car colour not sure how he did it so not much use to anyone so I will just go now and nurse my hangover
