Took a drive out yesterday to Mackenzie Country yesterday for some fishing. We stopped off in Tekapo for some supplies and a SIII SSW pulled up. It was carrying a family obviously on an 'expedition' (back and roof full of gear). The driver got out carrying his mini toolbox and did a walk around doing 'running repairs'.

It really did look the business - but the coolest part of the truck was the dog kennel. Where some people would put a bike rack on the tow bar, this Landie had a steel dog kennel mounted there carring a really lovely Pointer. I'm not sure if it was mounted on the tow bar or cross member - but you get the jist!

Unfortunately I didn't have a camera, so no picks. The other great thing was that also parked up there was a great collection of Corvette Stingrays - it must have been an owners rally. But all the tourists were ignoring the Stingrays - they were all standing around the SIII taking pictures :)

Did the dog have to travel in this kennel or was it for sleeping in when the rocked up somewhere? Just thinking of fumes etc.

Surprised at the 'mini' toolbox with a Series Land Rover. Perhaps he was just checking tyre pressures :)
