Exhaust sparking

my disco 300 tdi xs diesel 96 exhaust has sparks comeing from it and , there has been an oiley smell on start up 4 sometime,
heads been replaced 4000 miles ago rocker shaft snaped twice 2500 seems ok and lacks power when towing now, any sugestions and should i have my fire ext handy

Sparks coming from the exhaust has got to bad news.
I would be thinking carbon for the sparks
Start with the obvious pump and valve timing.
If okay i would take the head off again for a looks see

jacket car up have found a hole on the exhaust and a corroded oil return pipe, decided to replace all the exhaust and decat it and replaced pipe, starts up smokey then smoke goes away i hope this works because no sparks noticed yet
