I had a little hole in my exhaust back in June. So I patched it for the MOT. Got through fine. Then I heard it blowing again - and patched it again. then I heard it blowing for a third time. So (having driven for a few days) after it stopped raining, I looked underneath to patch it again.

This time there was a section missing - about the size of the CAT !! Anyone know where I left it?!!!

Also, if I get 60mm diameter pipe (870mm long) can I fill the gap and in effect Decat the exhaust? Any MOT implications? Where is best to get pipe from? Is it best / easiest to replace with correct section from quickfit etc?

been looking on internet - is centre section box the cat? or is it a silencer?

not changed exhaust on a defender before, so not sure about it all yet!

thanks for finding it!!!!!!!!! I just thought, is my wading depth going to be severely reduced?

and can I just put straight section in?

I was thinking: quick fix now, and I've got 6 months till July to check if ok for MOT. Saves some cash leading up to christmas!!

At least then i won't sound like a tractor when I see family etc at christmas and new year!!

I'll have to get it done asap - maybe wednesday or thursday or saturday or... before I get stopped!

Its the silencer uv lost! you don't need a cat for MOT

It wont be noisy just without the silencer just a nice little hum!

Aslong as it doesn't blow & ur happy use anything (scaffold pole comes to mind LOL)

Save your pennies then go & get some SS drop pipe & middle section ;-)
