Exhaust middle section....

1996 3.9 V8i disco1

Hi. I have a brand new exhaust rear section , I was about to fit it when I discovered the middle section silencer box has blown one hell of a mighty hole out the side of it. so before I fit the rear section I'll have to buy a middle section.
My problem is I want a straight through middle section so I can make the most of my V8i sound. Problem is everywhere I look at straight through middle sections They only seem to specify for TDI engines and not petrol V8???? Am I missing something?? Can I not have a straight through middle on a petrol? Or will the TDI fitment be the same size anyway and I'll get away with it??

It's had a good running though as this is the original exhaust 19years old

Y dont ya make your own cut the silencer out replace with pipe and weld or clamp up.

That's a good idea. I'm happy and got the knowhow and tools to do it but anyone know where I can buy a very short piece of exhaust pipe

The bay of e. Put what size pipe you need think its 60mm or 63 you can buy it by the meter and costs about 8 quid.and free postage

Give your location first, unless u expected a country wide list of exhaust suppliers.

Ok, try these. Give them your old lump and ask for a pipe replacement including the bolt flange which u will have if its original.

Unfortunately after closer inspection I have had to order a whole replacement middle section as (while removing old one) the entire bl**dy thing crumbled to pieces. So just ordered a terrafirma direct replacement straight through middle section from John craddocks. So looks like I'm gonna have a straight through to rear box only. Hoping it gives a nice V8 note

Of course it will - any V8 with less silencing sounds better The neighbours might think otherwise..... but they might all be proper-engine hating philistines

Finally got the rusty old exhaust out. I'm now using it as a collender n the kitchen........
