exhaust manifold temp

alondg with my usual ability not to think things through i was told that when tweaking the fuel pump you should look out for an increase in exhaust manifold temperaure which can be a precurser to turbo or head gaget failure. So i go an exhaust manifold temperature gauge and sensor not fitted it yet then realised i dont know what it should be anyway

so what should the exhaust manifold temperature be when running normally ?

To be honest I don't think there is an exhaust gas temp issue if you just do the pump tweek, when putting in more fuel if anything you will reduce temps.

However, if you increase turbo boost you will increase EGT's (exhaust gas temps.

thats ok then not sure i want ot play about too much with turbo tweaks just get it running as well as it can
