great info
has anyone tried or cut a square hole in the Under-tray IE; mod

I have a mod for extra cooling (see thumbnail), Ming has cut a hole for easy access to the oil filter.

Its easy done, only its fibreglass, not good to work with, use a mask and gloves. If you are removing a fair section then you might need aluminium strips for extra rigidity. Plus the guard keeps all the crud out from the engine bay.

thanks for the picture

but it seems you still cant get to the 2 bolts on the exhaust manifold as to renew gasket. maybe i just have to remove to silver plate aswell as the black fibreglass cover. :(

Not quite sure what you mean?

The aluminium plate is attached to the black undertray, it comes off as one piece.

As mentioned above.. 4 bolts for manifold/downpipe connection. You'll need extension bar and 17mm socket to get at them. If yours has the older type exhaust it is bolted to the sump (2 bolts) and IRD (1 bolt).

It will all become clear, many of us have been there before.
