Yesterday I found the debris and bolt of what looks like some sort of heat shield, could it be off the height sensor?
The other odd thing is that the exhaust section under the drivers seat appears to have dropped, allowing it to vibrate on the circular cross member. All the mounting rubbers look ok an it doesn't seem very keen to be pushed back up again, could it be an engine mounting issue ?
Over to the experts..............

The exhaust is held in the right position by pushing it up and tightening the joints, at least that's what I had to do when I fitted my new SS cat back system.
If it was an engine mount you would notice it.

There is a front mounting bar welded to the front pipe between flexi joint and cat check that is in place. If that is in place unless flexi has failed badly, pipe cannot drop.

That's effectively what I said:)

True, but if the front hanger had rusted away it could drop on the flexi and flop about like a whippets dick. Now we have established it is in place. As long as the flexi is sound repositioning on centre box is the way forwards. :)

Are we sure its not always been like that?
Failing that if none of the joints are loose and nothings moved the engine droping off its mount is looking likely to me
Engine dropping off it's mounts would quickly lead to some pretty drastic damage, even if just the rubber mounts have failed the noise and vibration make it pretty obvious.

Yeah for sure. Don't know how many other types of Land rover the OP has driven. But if the engine mounts have failed it will be like driving a well maintained diesel series or Disco. :D:D:D
