Hi,
Just had my Freelander up on the ramps as i thought the exhaust was blowing slightly....seems to be coming out of the flange between the Cat & the manifold downpipe just where the pointer is in the picture....can i get this welded or packed with 'Gun Gum' or do i need to replace either the Cat or downpipe??

Cheers

I think that's a flexy joint which means welding or gun gum will be useless. You can get universal flexy joints to weld or clamp into place.

Hi,
Have had a look at the various 'flexi-joints' on feebay....not 2 expensive, basically i would have to cut out that whole section with a grinder then just fit the flexi??

Sounds easy.......yeh right:D

It's worth double checking that the section you pointed at is a flexy joint. If it is then the theory is to cut out the leaking pipe and replace it with one that isn't.

Hi,
Its not a flexi joint.....seems to me that its supposed to be a solid join,
i will pick up some steel filler 2moro & give it a try with patching it
