Do you think if the graphic effects of war were on the news-we'd still be there?
Yes - of course we would - would you have shown pics of the trenches during the 1st world war, or the pictures of Japanese attrocities during the second. Do you think that posting pictures of the German and Japanese medical experiments would have benefited anyone? We are, (apart from one or two 
) intelligent adults and realise what horific things are done during warfare, that doesnt mean that we want to see pictures.
The porn and the food are just to promote discussion
Using that arguement then so would pics of kiddie porn - are you suggesting that we post pics of that - to promote "discussion" and if not, why not - it is "anything goes"?

The problem with today's society is they expect someone else to be the moral plumb line- your all adults self censor things you do not wish to be involved in.
I enjoy everyone's input, it does not matter if you agree/disagree as long as there is vibrant discussion.
Be passionate about your opinion, get involved, get discussing.
Infact it is good we don't all agree, I adds a balance and spice to the topics
