hi all, wondering if anyone can help me with a problem with my D3 using excessive amounts of oil, the head gaskets had gone on my disco3 which was using water, i had the head gaskets done but when it came back it started using about a gallon of oil a week, took it back and they told me it could be the turbo, its now had a new turbo but still got same problem, any one with any idea what the problem can be, cheers mick

Gallon a week ! Not sure I'd call that a leak, but your popular with motorcyclists in your area lol !

only blows it out on start up, seems to leak into chambers when stood above an hour or so, its going back into the garage for them to strip it down again, here's hoping they find what it is.

So do I mate, as said re- post in relevant forum and I'm sure you'll get some knowledgeable advice.
If your engine has some form of valve stem oil seals it could be that ?
Hope you get it sorted cheaply.

so do i coz im not spending any more money on it, it's down to them now.

Is she still under any form of warranty or were they supposed to have fixed it already ?
it only had this problem after head gaskets were done then they said it maybe down to the turbo so i had that done and still the same, took it to 2 other 4x4 places and both said there seems to be a problem with the L/H head, its booked in on the 14th may so will let you know what it is if they find out.

Yeah keep in touch, seems crazy to fit new turbo ? I'd ask them to re fit old one, refund that expense and sort it !
Personally I wouldn't use it as they could blame you for any damage.
Three weeks is too long. I'd return it and give them a few days to fix it !
