I bought 20ltrs of the last one when they had a 20ltrs for 24 (ex) deal on, and have used it in our 300tdi disco.

PS.
Don't get carried away with the last offer. Its cheap, but if you want 20ltrs, its a few quid better on eBay.

What I mean is, if you want 10ltrs it's fine, but don't think its cheap enough to stock up for ever...

No 5W40 is for cold climates down to - 30 degrees. Here 10W40 is the recommended grade.

I always used 5w 30 fully synth but I tried some 5w 40 last change and it make the old engine sound a bit better, I usually go for Ford spec, I have used Halfords own brand they have an offer at the moment 4 ltrs for £12 on their own 5w 40 which is made by Comma.
