Hi Julianf, yep the price is a bit better, but same oil (10w-40) is £17:99 BOGOF there also, Just that I needed the 5w-30 oil for easy winter starting. but thanks for checking my post...someone is watching.

Triple QX is ECP's own brand and depending which lies you believe is either the devils vomit and will kill your car in 30 seconds or is premium Shell in a different bottle. You pays your money.......

so should I be looking elsewhere or is it going to be ok for the next 6 months when I change it anyway ??

Engine oil is critical to the life of the engine. In the past I have put cheap oil in my car and got nasty rattles on startup (it was an old VW Golf). Since then I've always erred on the side of caution with oil and buy the best I can get. For my K series engines I use Castrol Magnatec and have never had any issues. The difference in price is small in the scheme of things but one thing a lot of people get wrong is thinking in an old engine doesn't matter so much. Old engines need better oil more than new engines due to the extra wear on internal components.
As I said before, you pays your money.....
