Morning campers!

Most of you know that I'm knee deep in a cracked block sealer running session but I have another problem which was present before I did the heads or the block.
What controls the idle speed? My idle can be at 900 one minute 200 the next, almost stalling, and then up to 1100 rpm?!!

Anyone experienced this one?

V8 4.6 by the way 1996.

Cheers :)

Not sure where it is on Gems. On Thor it's connected to the intake manifold - silver canister looking thing. I would imagine best way to clean it out is with carb cleaner.

Mine did that, tried all sorts of things but my issue turned out to be a dodgy wire to the MAF.

But it could be the MAF or the idle air control valve which is on the side of the main air inlet (opposite throttle housing) on the plenum chamber. Could be oiled up.
