Strange question time....

Is it an option elsewhere in the world to have a switch to increase the engine tickover speed to warm things up quicker?
A Nissan I used to drive had one that increased tickover to about 1500 RPM.

The Owner's Handbook actually recommends that your drive the vehicle straight after starting. It will warm up quicker when it's working under load:-

That "drive the vehice straight away" shoud be corroborated with "The engine should be allowed to idle for 15 seconds following engine start up and before the engine is switched off to protect the turbocharger by maintaining oil supply to the turbine bearings." though... IMO increasing the idle speed on a diesel has almost no effect o warm up... for that purpose a FBH(webasto) is needed
