bloody hell , there are many reports ref this on the D3/D4 sport forums
plus 1 what @freelance has said , suppose at the end of the day it’s either throw it back at them and get ur money back or they pay for a new engine
some have been lucky from some dealers where they’ve paid for everything others haven’t
land rover are aware if this, crankshaft shells slip and block off the oil ways
they did offer u a warrenty though didn’t they when u bought it, was it days / weeks u got the landy plse

The previous post by OP has been edited but he did say his warranty ran out last October. Not sure if by that he meant manufacturer warranty or by 'just got' meant a few months.

not wishing to sound rude to the op, but i wouldn’t have bought such an expensive car without one , inc a full tank and new 12 x month mot as a min
as u would indeed do ur homework before hand , reviews, search forums etc and seeing if there were any known issues

I would've thought so too but the 'just got' and 'ran out in Oct' are a little bit confusing. Might be manufacturer's ran out in Oct, but he's only recently acquired it with a seller warranty. i thought the manufacturers warrenty was 3 x years which i can only assume was renewed , ???? , but of course dangerous word to use “ Assume “
indeed and hopefully the op comes up trumps and gets it resolved , 50/50 , reject or new engine
would be a result if he got a new engine FOC , would be worth more then i suppose ?? lol,
