Hi Everyone. I have a 1999 Freelander Diesel 2.0... i totally overhauled the engine around 80 000 ago.
If i take the car over 60 mph or rev it through the gears, theres a big cloud of smoke behind me
It seems that the engine oil is being sucked up, thru the turbo and into the combustion chamber.
Can anyone help me with this problem ??? I was told that the Oil rings were worn and the crankcase is being pressurised.
I dont want to go and redo the engine and then find out it was a different problem
Thanks
John

Trying to think how its getting into the turbo, its fed with oil and it drains off in another pipe, dont think the breather goes right to the turbo, manafold probably so send it somewhere else.

oil consumption must be serious then, but take the pipes off and trace the oil back, turbo could be fooked, sounds like it since boost is where the oil would get sucked or blown in.

When you say overhaul, rebore and new pistons or just a bodge job.
