engine rebuild questions

hi

don't know if u guys remember but am in the process of getting the engine from my neighbour and starting to plan ahead ready for it

through here found a few engine holders via machine mart

but may I ask regarding the cylinder head

when I've done cylinder heads in the past and to test the inlet and exhaust valves, tipped the head on its side, poured diesel into the head to see if any of the valves were letting by

if they were, use to grind them in by hand, but only if the seats and guides were ok and replaced the valve oil seals etc

used a drill with wire brush attachments and cleaned all the carbon etc off

are u able to reseat the valves on td4 engine please, or does it have to be done by machine .

as surely the only true way to test the head is ok is pulling the head off and inspecting the condition

would anyone know what the rough cost may be for a company to redo the head please

am really looking forward to this and not bothered if it takes me till this time next year
