i know what it,s like, loads of time but know money, but im hoping that might change tommorow as ive got a work tial to goto,so see what happens,id rather work than sit on my arse all day

good luck on the trial mate, if you want my advice, kiss the right asses and nothing is too much trouble! once you got yr contract you dont have to kiss ass anymore!!!:D:D:D

Best of luck Andy......retirement is lovely, except that I have a full schedule around the house, wiring and plumbing work etc. that I put off whilst working..now I am busy for a while. I suppose I should spend more time down the local with me dog under the table, dominoes in me hand and pigeon on my shoulder taking plenty of excercise!! Nice not having to do 12 hour day & night shifts anymore, though I miss the full workshop facilities that I had access to for those "Little Private Jobs" such as pressing wheel bearings in & out.
:focus:
Had a quick look on the old Egay yesterday out of curiosity and see that used V8's are being priced at well over a grand and no mention of a warranty, be far better getting a new short engine for a couple of hundred more. Did you get any info. on the top hat liners Gav.??

Had a quick look on the Turner website and they do "Remanufactured" short engines for around £1700..no mention of price for fitting top hats to your own engine.
Whilst the top hat liner is a good idea, I personally would go for a new unit as everything is pristine and I am not aware of the liners slipping on these new engines. Whilst the occurance of slipped liners is becoming more common as the cars get older, there are still plenty of motors out there with 150k+ on the clock which have had no problems.
I know it's a load of cash to throw at something which is having it's value dropping like a stone, but at the end of the day it's down to what the car means to you...Exactly the same thing applies to Andy and most of the people on this forum.

its a tough decision, but i suppose its all down to how you can justify throwing good money after bad!!

i'll see what turns up over the next few weeks, i didnt want to give up on the old girl yet.

on a lighter note tho, the starter motor has packed up on the omega, so i now have 2 cars that are sheds!!!

cdx, does it have the phone in the radio???

to be honest i'm gonna whip the starter motor out in the morning, the joys of a ramp, and see if its that. hope its not the ring gear!!

i would like the 3.2 elite omega or signum with the fridge in the back!!! why do i like big engines!!

bit of good news, i got the omega sorted, battery was fubared, cost me a tenner for one off a 2004 vectra that was sat around the yard!!! so the pushbike can wait for now!!!
