i'd prefer rubber but wood will do if not!!:D:D:D

if you can keep that ear to the ground i'd appreciate it, you seem to have a nose for a bargain, i'm not sure what profile or width as its on mother in laws drive at the moment til its taxed!

i've got to go up to yard tommorrow so i'l get some o rings and see if i cant find that leak, and i'll let you know the size tyres.

i'm getting excited about finally driving my rangey again!! cant wait to get the old girl sorted fully and on the road!! got loads to do but most of it can be done while its roadworthy:cool::cool::cool::cool:

cheeky sod.:D

there wasnt any in the kits i bought for the bottom end and there were just about every other seal, there were 2 fibre washers tho, could these be the ones, also there were two copper seals, they were about the size of the oil pipes!

None of them Gav..they don't supply them in the gasket sets (Top or bottom).
If you have access to a micrometer or vernier, you could undo the pipe to the front cover..easiest to get to..and measure the diameter of the swage then deduct the diameter of the pipe, which is definately 1/2", halve the difference and that will give you the cross section of the "O" ring.
Don't know what time you plan going out tomorrow, I may (Not too sure) have a spare hose in the garage..I can have a look and if I do, I will let you know about 9.00 in the morning. If you don't hear from me by 9.30, your out of luck.
All the best
John

i'll have access to lz so i'll keep an eye on here, ive still got the other front cover, i intend keeping it as a spare so i'll dig out the o ring if its there.

i know my old o rings were wedged in the housing when i removed the pipes to lift the block out,but i have one of those big o ring assorted boxes so i just dug 2 out of that,i will try and find the size for you but im going to be in work till 1pm.

no worries andy, i'm gonna try and oik the old ones out, i thort it was a bit strange having no seal but none came out so none went if you know what i mean!!!

its annoying having done all those hourse tucked beneath it to find a tiny piece of rubber is gonna cause me hassle!!

never mind at least its holding its water now!!!

i dont need one but, if its a 4.0 version of the engine and not the 3.9(i know they are essentially the same but there is a difference for discriptive purposes) then i know someone who might be interested. i'll have a look for him, its a fella on here with block problems!

is it the 4.0 with longer crank nose and dissy less cam? i have 2 blocks that are in need of a rebuild!!! gonna chuck em on ebay for someone, usually the kit car fellas to rebuild. i was gonna top hat liner one of em but as i picked up a top hat linered block then theres no point!!!
