engine oil

I know some questions get asked too frequently so apologies if this qualifies. I've just phoned a local agricultural supplier who has 20 lt containers of Total 10w-30 tractor universal oil for £40. From what's been said here I assume this is fine for a td5? Changed every.....?

Go to www.shell.uk and look on the lube match.
They recommend Helix 5W-40.

They list Helix F 5w-30 (ford spec)

the minumum spec for the TD5 is ACEA B1 which i don't think it meets

the perfect Total oil for the TD5 is called Total Future 9000 5w-30

changed every 1 year or 12000 miles

more often wont hurt though
