Just come back from Halfords where I was going to purchase engine oil.
In my handbook it Quotes 5w-30 multgrade engine oil to a spec ACEA A3/B3. Got to the shop got blown away with all the oils on the stands did not know there was so many and I will tell you know now nothing about oil. Also the cost second morgage. One of the chaps tried to help and recommended Castrol Edge turbo Diesel 0w-30.But am I paying for spec I do not need. There was a Castrol multgrade 5w-30 but it did not have word turbo but did have A3/B3.

Could smeone HELP please

I have just purchased all the parts ready to service mine when the time comes, I have gone for the castrol edge turbo diesel 5w-40, I ordered it from a website called wilcodirect.co.uk and cost £37.99 for 4L, so abit cheaper than halfords but not much.

I use shell fully sythetic 5w-40 diesel oil .
Was £45 for 12 litres of ebay .

On account the oil is only in there for 6000 miles I use Halfords own Diesel oil for £22 for 5 L and put the whole lot in, which brings the level to the top of the stick. That means theres more oil to circulate. Never skimp on the filter though, alway fit a good make.

use the same halfords oil as for the filter what ever is the cheapest not sure if its the right way to go but thts all i can afford at the mo credit crunch and all that:(
