just been drivin home an my disco started chuggin at anything over 2500rpm then started kangerooin at revs over 1500rpm with intermitent power, as if it was running out of fuel(an no i ant tha daft) any ideas??

just changed the filter a couple of days ago, the bleeding screw on top was a bit loose but even after ive sorted it engine is still the same, ill heve a go at sedimenter tommorow, how is it done?

it's under the wheel arch. undo the nut on the top and the bowl should come off.

other things to check are turbo / intercooler pipes for collapsing, leaking or delaminating, fuel pipes for leaks / air getting in and leaking around the injectors.

pop round if yer struggling with anything matt. wont be back from redditch till the afternoon like but ill be working in kensington again from when i get back till late then all over the weekend.

nice one craig really appreciate the offer mate. you'll be sorry when i turn up with vital bits of me lannee in hand to get ya help lol
might go to dales an slap someone if thats the cause.

was with mine when i used it. was good for a while and used a good few hundred litres then one batch was iffy to say the least.

went to manchester in it today was fine all the way there an on the way home just started to die on the motorway, couldnt get up the hill at one point and wouldnt go over 40, had to stop in the rain had a tinker with fuel filter and it picked up great for about 15miles then died again will have to go through and check it all 2moro

Seems coincidental that you changes the fuel filter and then a couple of days later your having problems? Might be worth buying another new filter and fitting it, remember to give a good prime from the lift pump.

The sedimenter has already been mentioned but again if you cleaned it and air is getting in where it has not sealed properly it's enough to give the problems you are having.

regards

Dave

cheers dave, been at the sedimenter today and for the life of me cant get the thing off! cant get a ratchet between the boot floor and nut on the top and when i did the nut just turned. gave up in the end (very unlike me) will try a nnew fuel filter this week, fingers crossed

Hi there, all the symptoms you mention are classic of a fuel sedimentor full of cack.

You NEED to get this off and I suspect you'll find a sort of mayonnaise/snot looking substance, which rises and falls with the demand for fuel.

Get it off, clean it and she'll run like a bird.

Good luck

Dave
