hi all, i have a problem, i have a discovery v8 manual and when i change gear it feels like the engine moves forward and back, i.e. bounces, it also does this when i come on and off the gas, am i rite in thinking that the engine mounts have had there day or the box ones or both, thanks for any help on this.

Could well be that, one way to check (and I've used this to good effect in the past) is to put the car in 1st gear (with handbrake on!) and slowly bring the clutch to biting point - have an assistant observe the engine mounts when you do this to see if there is excessive movement in any of them.

Could be transmission shunt - excess play in the transmission. My 300tdi has this and can bunny hop quite well
