You won't be able to tell be looking at the bushes as they are inside the bracket. They don't seem to wear as much as they just go soft. But they are already too soft if you ask me.
The problem with Rover was the need to provide vehicles that felt modern when driven but were just re-hashed old vehicles. This led them to cut corners or at least make what they had in the way of parts work. Things like engine mounts are expensive to designed from scratch so instead of designing new they appear to have simply softened the rubber in an older existing design. It's fine for a refined feel when the vehicle is new but long term durability is compromised some what. On the plus side it's easy to rectify
There is another thing with the K series engine, being light weight alloy soft bushes help damp out vibration and so reduce fatigue failure of the block!
