My orange engine management light has started flickering occasionally, accompanied by a lack of turbo boost/power when it does so. The weird thing is, it only does it at about 10 minutes into the journey from cold, and only when I'm straight onto the motorway at a steady speed at around 70 (doesn't seem to happen on the A road, for some reason..)

I had the same problem with my Saab 9-3TiD, it was easily rectified by cleaning the gunge of a sensor - is there likely to be a similar fix for the freelander, and if so, where to start?

many thanks.

BTW, looking for 5 15" freelander steel wheels to stick bigger tyres on, if anyone is looking to offload a set. Will 15" wheels from an older model fit a 03 hippo?

could be MAF sensor but it sounds unlikely. The first thing I'd do is to check the connections on the pressure sensor on the fuel rail for signs of corrosion. It is quite a common fault. It could also be fuel pressure regulator or weak in tank fuel pump.

well you can buy a simple code reader for around 20 to 30 pounds tops, plug it in it will point you in the direction of a possible fault. then start working backwards. i take it the simple things like air filter/fuel filter are reasonably new.
