Afternoon all,

I finally got around to removing my rear wiper motor to take it to bits and have a good look, during this (about 50 mins) the tailgate was open (internal lights on) and the radio on. I've replaced the motor (no luck here either!) and came to move the RR and it wont start, locked in Park, and I get both "Engine Failsafe Prog" and "High Range" error messages. I'm a relatively new RR owner so don't have any diagnostic tools but was wondering if a low battery could cause this (lights, central locking, etc all work).

Any help would be greadully recieved!

Thanks :(

Thanks Saint, should I jump start to rectify?
Whilst it is possible to do so, make sure you follow the hand book procedure.....

Range Rovers generally don't like Jump Starting in any other way than the method in the book...

Also wheres you location, meybe some one local with the gear to help out!

Didn't even realise About this jump starting procedure lol

Ah yes we have to follow that !!

I also found out that there is a explosive connection on the positive terminal if in crash it cuts the connection !

yesh, new about the connection on the battery that disconnects with the airbag deployment.

jump started a few cars before not knowing anything about the proper connection points ?

surely its the same as just clamping onto the battery terminals

In theory yes, but if it sparks it won't matter, nor will there be a possibility of disturbing it ..... LR put the procedure in for a reason...
