Engine drops revs at 3000 revs

hi my freelancer TD4 has started dropping in revs at about three thousand revs, I changed the air filter which was all but full ,and it stopped doing it for about three days but it has started again have any of you very knowledgable people any ideas as to the possible cause of this fault . The engine seems to cut out but if I just let the car slow down and then put my foot down again it will go again until it reaches 3000 revs and then stalls again, this will happen at any speed it’s the 3000 that stalls it, thanks for reading my post and trying to help. Kieron

Hi it is 2004 and has 124000 on the clock

Your best bet is to look at the live data on a diagnostic device. You're issue sounds like a fuel related issue though. So you need to check the low pressure fuel pump supply pressure using low pressure sensor the live data.
