My Range Rover P38 1998 4.6 HSE (LPG) - my dream motor is a pile of crap!

At 1.30am I stopped at motorwway services (Watford Gap, South Bound) to put air in tyres. Range wouldnt start right next to air pump, queue forming..."Engine disabled" I had already unplugged the RF (both cables)few days earlier from the back shelf, I tried the 1515 code --nothing. I tried the cars code -nothing! I unplugged the battery then on again in position I and tried in position II. WITH THE CODES I TRIED I ONLY HAD 3 CHANCES THEN HAD TO WAIT 30 MINS TO TRY AGAIN WAITING IN THE FREEZING COLD...this took me til almost 3am. in meantime I rang RAC, they tried & couldnt do it, they sent tow truck we tried at other side of services to start it up Guess what ? -Nothing...we drove to the next junction to a lorry park at neaarly 4am it started,
Since I only have one tow to anywhere in the UK with RAC I cannot use them again if this happens, I cant afford to join every breakdown company for this matter....It also happened the other day in Camden, London but this time the 1515 code eventually worked. I had to get private breakdown for a tow when it happened on A1 Scratwood pull in (south bound) when I stopped to take a mobile call...
**** and unreliable piece of crap... a luxury car???? Boolicks!!
"Plastic Static & Stagnant"
Im selling mine ASAP for a Toyota Land Cruiser or Mitsibishi ro Lexus or Merc..i just cant rely on it I should have dumped it when it happened before Xmas with my 6 year old in with freezing weather you cant even put heating on ..luckily I had a sleeping bag in the boot for him (he's ^ years old for fecks sake) **** **** **** **** **** **** **** car !!
Also when the battery was dead You cant open the boot with a Friggin key..I had to get passnegers out of the rear seats, fold seats down (no interior light) at 10.30pm in the snow & freezing cold and take almost all the luggage out through by the rear seats/rear doors to get to the jump leads.....
Whos great idea was that!
S>H>I>T!

A waste of money and a con !

I know all cars have problems but I hate the Range...

Unless someone has any ideas suggestion, im may reconsider (unlikely) but at the mo, I have work appointments where i cant use my own car in case it happens at clients houses, how embarrassing and bang there goes the job cos I look ridiculous!

ANYONE WANA BUY A LPG RANGE?

My neighbour has a 09 Range and his has been back to garage/dealer for problems wait for it..22 times since new!!!!
60 odd thousand pounds for that ...

beachy Head here I come...probalby break down there !!!!!:blabla::doh::lvkiss-106::lvkiss-106::lvkiss-106::lvkiss-106::lvkiss-106::mil77:

and what does all this tell you? dont buy a bloody p38 - simple. note if you go on the range rover forum the vast majority of posts are about P38, not the rangey classic or new L322 but the P38

its simple who is at fault, you for being a pillock and buying a ****ty motor when you coulda got a disco, classic or maybe L322!:p

Dear J the Range...What does that mean ?
I disscovered under the shelf at the rear ,,,there are two boxes one must be the radio areia adn on enearer the seat is what exactly? anyone give clear simple info....i am a pillock for buying a P38 I agree.....thanks

the box with just two plugs on is the rf [nearist the rear seat] just unplug the one wire plug and leave the other one on. your remote will still work but you have to be near the rf box.. or you can get the new updated rf for around £150..
