hello all,
After driving the quick way home to my village from the farm (which involves a few miles of very rough track, and i didn't drive at any sort of speed). my 2.25 petrol landy has developed a problem, i got back with no issues, turned her off then after 5 minutes i decided to go else where. I got off my drive and got to the junction and it almost cut out, if i tickled the accelerator it got engine back on track, after this i reversed straight back and took other vehicle. I tested it later, not for many miles, but seems to cut out after seconds when not accelerating and the choke is fully open, however in the couple of miles i tested it, it seems fine when choke was partially closed. I am sure its a simple problem, for those with some sense. Can't see owt obviously engine wise

thanks

Could be a bit of crud has found its way into the carb fuel jet. An old trick for clearing this is to remove the air filter pipe and then with the engine revving some you slap your hand down on the open top of the carb and with a bit of luck the extra vacuum sucks the crap through.
More of a clean out may be needed in dismantling the carb and cleaning out the tank.

X1 it looks like a carburettor problem. Dirty idle jet. Unscrew the jet and give it a clean/ blow air through to clear any crud.

Also, make sure the mixture screw is set correctly. Mine has a tendency to readjust itself when travelling over rough ground.
