engine breather?

hi all, im looking at buying an old 110 county with the 2.5 turbo19j engine. the one im looking at "collects" a little oil in the air filter housing from the breather pipe, is this normal and how much is acceptable? when the hose is removed there is stream of smoke/gas coming from it is this ok?

Either walk away from it or if the 110 is in good condition ie chassis and body work etc then do ya sums and see if it will be worth getting a 200 tdi engine and converting. They all spit a little oil into air filter tho!
