Hi there. I’m just commissioning a defender county from 1983 which has Nissan fd35t engine. The bump stops have been lowered by about 2.5” restricting suspension travel to about the same 2.5”. The sump pan has been modified to miss the diff and I can’t see anything else that would foul needing the restriction in travel. Can anyone give me any insight into this mod. Thanks

Nope all straight forward apart from above
Well take them off and with the help of a jack or two try and see what they were trying to avoid making contact.

Maybe they had big wheels/tyres and the stops were to stop the tyres fouling the arches?

How much clearance have you between inside edge of tyre and the front trailing arms on full lock? you want about an inch.
